Out of area referrals
Out of area referrals can now be submitted using a new function available to users.
From the login page:
This opens a very similar looking window. Once you are set up for out of area referrals this is where you will log in for out of area referrals only ( https://app.dental-referrals.org/external_staff/login ). However first you need to select “Request an Out of Area Referral”
This will open the attached window:
If you already have a login and use the same username when you complete the form pictured above, when you login it will use your current username and password and list of phone numbers to receive the PIN.
If you use a different email address or are a new user, you will receive a new username and password via email. PIN’s will be sent via email to the address provided in this form only.
On the admin side we will receive an email to d.referrals and approve your request (assuming it is an area we look after).
You will receive an email notifying you that the request has been approved:
If you have used a new email address you will receive an additional email with the credentials:
You can then login at the external users link ( https://app.dental-referrals.org/external_staff/login ) either using your existing username and password if you used your username when signing up, or the new credentials you have received.
You will be presented with the following. Select Show Requests:
Then select “Submit Referral” and you will see the forms in a new window. Select the discipline you wish to refer for and complete the form
PLEASE NOTE: if a service is not listed we are not commissioned to deliver that pathway and you should contact the provider directly. If a provider is not listed they are either currently not taking referrals or are not part of the NHSE commissioned pathway for that area.
Issues you may encounter or questions you may ask
- Integration will not work with out of area referrals
- If you confuse the normal login link https://app.dental-referrals.org/login with the out of area link https://app.dental-referrals.org/external_staff/login you will see the incorrect forms and dashboard. Even though you may be using the same username and password the OOA referrals do not appear on the same dashboard and require the different links to be used to login.
- You cannot open your normal dashboard (ie for the are you practice is located in), and the out of office link in the same browser at the same time. Whichever you log into last, will logout the preceding one. It is recommended that you either a) us a different browser for the OOA referrals or utilise the incognito function of your browser to open the OOA login. This is achieved by right-clicking on the browser icon and selecting "New incognito Window" (For Chrome), or "New InPrivate Window" (for Microsoft Edge).
