Adding your ODS code to your practice

As part of the ongoing development of the referral system we will be asking practices to confirm their ODS codes (previously known as v codes).

There is no way to progress to the referral system until the ODS code has been added, please make sure your teams are aware that this will be happening.

These are the identifiers used by the NHS for your practice. If we do not have an ODS code already listed for your practice, a pop-up will display and  will require completing in order to continue. There will be a link to enable you to look up your practices ODS code from the NHS portal.

Enter your practice postcode in the organisation search at the top of the page and search. Your practice will display with its ODS code

For referring practices

Copy your ODS Code and add it to the portal (please note below is an image of how this will appear within the referral system only. To access the link to find your ODS please use this link - ODS code from the NHS portal):

Select search and then confirm your practice details on the next screen.

Example:

Please note: Once entered this cannot be corrected from the practice side of the system, so please ensure you have checked it is correct before saving.

Private practices Only

If you are a private practice you will not have an ODS code, so the system will allocate you a code if you select the the “We are a private practice” option (Do not use this if you are an NHS practice).

This code will be specific to the referral system and not used in the wider NHS.

For Providers using PReSS

When you login you will see this screen:

Select configure for each provider you are administering through this account (they will all show); enter the ODS code and select Search:

On the next page confirm the details as per the referring practice user.
