Referrals waiting to be assessed: Your PReSS system has a triage page so that you can triage referrals as they come into your service

The options available are area specific so they may not look like these, however the functionality is the same.

Accepting a referral (Urgent or otherwise) is not a declaration that you will treat the patient. If required, you can reject or escalate a referral using the discharge options in the other tabs at a later date.

If you use an orange button to escalate a referral, a box will open for you to add comments that will attach to the referral when sending to the secondary care provider:

This must be filled in to explain the escalation.

The Blue return to referral centre option also has a comments box which the admin team will action based on your wishes. NOTE: This is not used to escalate the referral to secondary care
