Tracking your Referrals from Within your Dashboard
Across the top of dashboard you will find a series of tabs:
Each tab can be accessed by clicking on them, to track a specific patient by their name, their date of birth (DD/MM/YY) or URN please use the “Lookup Referral” button in the top right hand corner.
To access the tracking information for a referral click on the URN as below:
The tracking information lets you know where the referral is up to in the process:
If the referral states “With Triage” then one of our clinical team is currently assessing the referral.
If the referral states “Sent To” then the referral has been sent to the provider indicated – you will need to contact them for more information on appointments and waiting times if required. (For ortho referrals please see ortho tracking information here)
The following information is available only for services that utilise our PReSS system (at current time this is not available in Secondary Care)
If the tracking displays additional information like so:
24 Jan 2018, 20:24 – Provider received referral – This indicates that the referral has been passed into the providers system (Please note, this does not mean they have opened or read it – only that they can access it through their PReSS system)
25 Jan 2018, 08:26 – Provider accepted referral – This indicates that they have read and accepted the referral and will contact your patient in due course for an appointment. (Waiting times vary based on discipline and the provider)
26 Jan 2018, 10:07 – Provider moved referral to contacted section – This indicates that they have moved the referral within their provider system to contacted. (Each provider may employ a different method of contact ie Text, letter or phone call.)
You can learn more about the providers in the Directory of Service on your pages of the website. – you need to contact them directly for information on appointments and waiting times if required.
The Referral Management Centre does not have access to the providers waiting lists, waiting times or appointment systems. In order to find these details out, please track the referral and contact the provider.
